10 Special Secrets That Make Getting Inbound Links For Your Web site Easy -
Part 1 by by Adrian Key
If content is King, then how do certain web sites always seem to get top
rankings in the search engines for key search terms when the page they have
indexed has hardly any text on it?
The fact of the matter is that if content is King then inbound links to your web
site must be Queen. The harsh reality is that you can have the best laid out,
most relevant web page ever for your target keyword, but if no other web site
is linking to your site then you are never going to get your web page to rank
well for any meaningful keyword phrase.
So what should you do to encourage other webmasters to link with your web site?
Most will spend hours and hours searching the Internet for quality web sites in
their niche that also have a high standing in the search engines. And when they
find one, they approach the webmaster for an exchange of links.
But all to frequently their time and effort will be for nothing as the webmaster
will not respond to their request, your email being lost amongst the mass of
unwanted mail messages they receive every day. And if they do agree to
exchange, your link is buried at the bottom of some links page where know one
is ever going to find it. So, is there a better and more profitable way of
encouraging web sites to link with your own - you bet!
Just think for a moment, is there a web site that you have come across recently
that you would really like to get a link from, but have considered that link to
be impossible to obtain? Picture that web site for a moment and imagine what it
would be like if you had a link from that site to your own web site. Imagine
experiencing the fantastic increase in popularity and traffic your web site
might enjoy and the additional sales that such a link prominently displayed
could bring you.
Such a link could be yours. In the next two minutes this article is going to
give you ten original and powerful ways to easily encourage other webmasters to
place a link on their web site back to your own.
1) Free Web Site Reviews
Most webmasters include reviews of their business on the home page of their web
site. If they don't then you will often find a link to site reviews prominently
displayed somewhere. Write a 300 to 500 word review about a web site that you
particularly like. Send your review to the webmaster of that site and tell them
they can publish your review or any part of it provided they include a link
back to your web site below it.
2) Write Articles
Write good quality articles about your business, products or services. Include
at the bottom of each a bio about your business with a link to your web site
Distribute your article to as many different and relevant article directories
that you can find. Each directory that publishes your article will also be
providing you with a link back to your web site.
As an added bonus, your article may also be picked up by other publishers to
include in their newsletter or as content for their web site. Each publisher
that uses your article will be providing your web site with another valuable
link.
3) Exchange Newsletters
Find others in your niche that produce a regular, good quality newsletter and
exchange content with them on condition that whatever content they use is
published with a link to your web site.
This tactic not only provides you with some great content for your newsletter,
but also ensures that your web site link gets exposed to a whole new list of
targeted subscribers.
For an added benefit, ensure that the publisher whom you exchange newsletters
keeps an archive of past editions on their web site. That way you are assured a
number of permanent links back to your web site from the archive.
4) Produce An Article Pack
For some web masters, a single article is not enough. They are looking for
content and lots of it.
Why not collect together a number of your best articles into a single pack and
offer it to web masters as content that they can use on their web site. Make
sure that your content is presented in a basic html format so it can be easily
dropped into their web site. And once again, ensure that every article has a
bio about your business and a link back to your web site.
5) Exclusive Content
Most webmasters like the thought of having content on their web site that nobody
else has. Write an article then offer it to them as an exclusive for their web
site only, provided they give you a link.
You might choose to give them exclusive rights to the article content forever,
but most publishers that use this technique will limit the time period to three
or six months. Limiting the time period in this way will encourage the
webmaster to publish your content sooner and also let you use that content
after the exclusive period has run out to create other links to your site.
