How to REALLY attract highly targeted customers to your website / ebay
auctions by James Penn
How to drive thousands of potential buyers to your eBay auctions ABSOLUTELY
FREE!
It is a known fact that the more visitors you get to your ebay auctions, the
more sales - and therefore more money - you will make.
In this FREE report, I will tell you the exact methods myself, and the internet
marketing guru's, use to drive highly targeted traffic to their eBay auctions
and increase sales by up to 1000% for absolutely free and with little or no
effort.
I will cover the two easiest and most profitable methods to successfully market
your auctions.
METHOD 1
This method is perhaps the easiest way and will ensure you huge amounts of
traffic to your auctions initially but eventually the traffic will die down.
The Marketing Powers of Forums
Forum: An online discussion group, where participants with common interests can
exchange open messages.
I'm sure you have all come across forums before. Maybe you heard about this
report through a forum. There are thousands of forums all over the internet,
from sports discussion forums to health related forums to ebay forums. No
matter what specialist products you sell on eBay, there will be at least one
forum somewhere over the net.
Heres what you do first:
Establish what you sell on eBay.
Define a catgory under which your auctions fall. If you sell exercise
equipment, then your category is health and fitness. If you sell jeans, then
your category is clothing.
Find a forum related to your category.
There are forums on every single subject somewhere on the internet. Find all
the relevent ones to you. Use search engines such as Yahoo, AOL and most
importantly Google. Visit www.groups.google.com/ and find forums and discussion
boards on your category.
Bookmark the forums
Create a new word document and add the URL of the all the relevant forums you
can find. Spend a few minutes browsing on each forum and get to know the
regular posters.
Register on all of the forums
Register on each of the forums using your ebay user ID as a for a username and
the same password for each forum. (This makes remembering passwords and
usernames much easier)
Time to post
Make a few knowledgeable posts on the forums. Offer advice and seem like an
expert in your field. If people see you as an expert your more likely to earn
respect and there more likely to buy from you. Converse with the more regular
posters on the forums to again add to your reputation.
Create a signature
You've become known on the forum and you have built a solid reputation. Now you
create a signature. A signature is a line which appears at the bottom of your
message saying anyhting you want. You need to create one advertising your eBay
items. Write a brief description of what you sell and add the URL. Here is an
example.
Check out my eBay items for bargains on all types of eBooks :
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZpalace789QQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0
?
(If you can't click on the hyperlink, select the Select Text tool on the top
toolbar and highlight the hyperlink before pasting it into your web browser)
Obviously that link looks a bit ugly and long, so you will need to shorten it
down.
Paste the URL into a word document. Right click on it and select "Edit
Hyperlink". A new window will open and at the top there will be a section
called "Text to Display". Delete the long URL from there and type in whatever
you want. Here is an example.
For a great collection of eBooks and more visit my ebay Auctions
However, on some forums this does not work. If this is the case, visit
www.tinyurl.com, type in your link and it will automatically genearate a
shorter link. Like this http://tinyurl.com/o5ag9
Start a new topic
You've created your signature, now you want maximum exposure. Start a new topic
offering advice or asking a question. This will ensure maximum exposure for
your signature. Everyone who opens the topic will see your post and therefore
your signature. Whether they decide to click on your link however is another
matter. Once you've started a topic on each forum, move onto the next step.
Count the hits
This is possibly the easiest and most fun part.
Most forums have counters which count the number of people who open up a topic
and view your post. Keep an eye on these. If a topic that you created has 100
views, then 100 people have seen your post as your was the first one.
Typically, about 50% of these people will follow your link. That's an extra 50
people seeing your auctions! Considering the average conversion rate of
visitors to sales is about 10%, that means you should make an extra 5 sales.
But because you have advertised on a forum which is specific to what you sell,
you can expect a higher conversion rate. Not bad considering you havn't put
excessive amounts of effort in.
Bare in mind that you will have more than 100 people viewing your topic. Using
this exact method, I advertised on 6 forums. After 7 days here is how many hits
I received.
Forum Number of Views Forum 1 80 Forum 2 86 Forum 3 330 Forum 4 721 Forum 5 770
Forum 6 2785
That, I think, is nearly 5000 views. Therefore 2500 more visitors to my
auctions. And working with a 10% conversion rate is 250 more sales. Considering
my lowest priced item on eBay is 2, that means in that week I made a minimum
of 500.
Your work is not done yet...
Continue to post on each forum
The more you post the more exposure you will get. It is likely that you will
recive questions about your eBay items. Answer these promptly and honestly and
you will earn the trust of the forum posters. Bump your topics to the top of
the forum for more exposure. But do not do this in an obvious way or in a way
which will annoy people. Otherwise the reputation you've built up over the last
few dyas will vanish almost instantly.
Watch the sales fly and the money roll in
Enjoy your success because it won't last for too long. Eventually you will run
out of forums to post on and everyone will have visited your auctions.
But don't panic, the following method will ensure sales last for a lifetime.
Method 2
Create a report which spreads over the internet like wildfire.
A report is virtually a mini eBook. At this very moment you are reading a
report. If you were to take a chapter out of an ebook, that would be a report.
They are easy to create. They only have to be a couple of pages long and can be
about ANYTHING!
Ok, the challenge is to write a report which you issue for free on forums just
like you did advertising your eBay auctions.
Write a report which is related to what you sell on eBay. If you sell exercise
equipment, write a report about how to lose weight. If you sell clothes, write
a report about the latest and future trends in fashion, or how to avoid scams
and buying fake clothes online. There are literally thousands of reports you
could write.
For the purposes of this report we will use the example of writing a report
about 'How to lose weight with the aid of mini trampolines (rebounders)'
Notice how the report is not about just losing weight but losing weight with
the aid of trampolines. The more specific you are with your report, the more
you will issue and the more beneficial they will be to your customers.
Write a report a few pages long about how to use trampolines for effective
weight loss. Include in your report, links to your eBay auctions and join as
many affiliate schemes as you can selling trampolines.
Add your affiliate links in relevant places in your report.
Once you've written the report, upload it to a website. Alternatively, you
could send it out manually but if you do you are likely to be sitting at your
computer all day just sending it out. Host your file at www.ebookshare.co.uk It
only costs 1 per year if your file is under 1mb and is the simplest way of
hosting your ebook.
You will be issued with a unique URL. Paste this URL into all of the forums you
used in Method 1.
Again, start a new topic.
Title of the topic: Create a title like you would if you were selling this item
on eBay. Use emotive words but also give the hard facts.
The Message: Explain that you have writeen a report about (insert subject here)
and you are issuing it FREE to anyone who wants it. Explain what the benefits
would be from reading the report and give instructions for download. Add your
unique URL for download.
Finally, explain how they can also give away the report or use it as a bonus
for their eBay auctions.
Lets say 1000 people download your report. It is likely that 90% will check out
your auctions and so again you will make some sales this way. A large
percentage will also visit your affiliate links and perhaps purchase off of
them. That way you will make you a nice commision. A smaller percentage will
also sell the report or use it as a bonus for their ebay auctions.
Do you see how this report can spread around the internet so quickly? You can
also issue it as a bonus for your eBay items to increase sales.
TIP: Make sure the report is in PDF format so that it can not be edited and
therefore your affiliate links and eBay auction links will remain the same.
With a bit of hard work and good advertising you could quite easily issue 5000
reports. But the beauty of reports are that they will continue to spread around
the internet for years to come.
That's it for this report. I will be releasing new reports in due course so
keep an eye out. Also keep an eye on my ebay auctions for new products.
I always appreciate feedback, good OR bad. Tell me whether you like this report
or whether there's anything I have missed out. Contact me at
