7 Things That You Must Understand With MLM by Henrik Lundin
Working the old traditional offline MLM way, calling people and/or purchasing
leads, are not in my opinion a success formula for most network marketers. We
can all agree that success in MLM is simply about Marketing, Duplication and
Numbers, and when I say Marketing I refer to Marketing your self, your product
and your opportunity. Three things you must master and duplicate in network
marketing are:
-How to invite -How to present -How to follow up
How many leads did you call? How many presentations did you do? How many did
you follow up with, and finally, how many of your downlines did all of those
things?
Let's say that your downline knew how to do these three "super important"
things. The problem is that, even if they knew how, they wouldn't do it enough
to achieve success. This is because their emotions will stop them. People
generally don't like selling, and are not ready to expand their comfort zone.
Another critical factor is how many people can you realistically show your
offer to on a daily basis, by working the old traditional, offline, MLM way?
Unless you are a natural born sales leader, or extremely persistent, you'll
have a very hard time trying to achieve success by working and following that
plan. Even though you can figure out how to do these things properly, it's
going to be very tough trying to duplicate what you're doing.
Here's why...
1. People in general are not emotionally strong enough, or don't want it "bad
enough", in order to manage all the rejection they receive, by working the
offline MLM model. "The master of emotional response is the key to winning." In
other words, the person that can handle their emotions the best wins.
The problem is that most people can't master their emotions. Instead of
controlling their emotions, they are controlled by their emotions, and only go
wherever their emotions lead them.
2. Most network marketers can't INVITE properly, and won't do it enough to
succeed. They "screw up" when they call, or they don't call, their prospects at
all. In general they will try to call a few people, but they will not try hard
enough to deserve success. They will become more or less inactive because of
all the rejection they've received from skeptical people when they first tried
it out.
Life and their emotions will come in their way. Even if they have the chance to
do regular 3-way calling with some successful upline leader, most people will
not do it. They simply don't want it bad enough and aren't ready to leave their
"comfort zone". Most people will quit if they receive to much rejection.
Constant rejection, in the end, leads to self doubt, as well as the feeling of
being unable to succeed in MLM, so that we want to avoid at all costs!
3. Most Network marketers can't PRESENT the business properly, and won't do
enough presentations in order to succeed. The truth is that people, in general,
are scared of public speaking, scared what people might think of them, and
scared of looking stupid, etc.
Offline meetings could be effective if you have a very powerful speaker in the
front of the room doing the presentations every time. The problem is that most
people are not like them, so when the speaker "super star" isn't there, no one
can duplicate what they do.
Another problem is that, unless a successful speaker shows up for the meeting,
you will have a very hard time trying to get people to your meeting. People are
generally too comfortable these days. They simply don't want to go to the other
side of town to hear just "anyone" come and speak.
4. Most network marketers can't FOLLOW UP properly, and won't do it enough in
order to succeed. Statistics say that, people need 5-7 exposures before they
buy something, so the follow-up process is crucial. The problem with letting
people call their prospects is that most network marketers don't know how to do
it properly, and they "screw up". Or they just don't do it at all. Their
emotions stop them again.
5. Most network marketers can't MARKET themselves or the opportunity properly,
and won't do it enough to succeed. It's all about marketing yourself, and your
opportunity. Most network marketers will have a big problem trying to attract
other people to do business with them if they work according to the traditional
offline MLM model.
It's all about marketing. It's all about technology. It's all about setting up
the website correctly the first time, with the right sales copy, driving
traffic to the website, and having a strong e-mail follow-up system behind it.
These techniques can make all network marketers look "super professional". The
website and the e-mail follow up system will do all the selling for them.
The most profitable and duplicable way to work with network marketing is, in my
opinion, through advertising. Why? Because you can reach thousands, or even
hundreds of thousands of people, instantly, and you can teach your team how to
do the same.
Another very important factor is that advertising can be rejection free, if you
have a strong online system in place. There are many different and effective
ways to advertise, but I will only mention a few here, that are duplicable,
tried and true:
-Ezine advertising -Google Adwords -Forum marketing -Blogging -Classified ads
-Traffic Swarm -Article marketing.
However the advertising process is only duplicable if it's backed up by a
strong, automated online system.
6. Most Network marketers need a SYSTEM that helps them to invite, present and
follow up. The system also has to be as rejection free as possible, otherwise
most people will quit.
Does McDonald's cook the best hamburgers in the world? Probably not, but they
surely have the best system. McDonald's sells time and convenience to people.
You want the people you bring into your network marketing company to have the
best possible chances to succeed. You want to shorten their learning curve. You
must understand this. I know some successful upline leaders will tell you to
just buy more leads, call more people, do more presentations, etc. Listen, its
not their fault, they are simply from the old school.
That's the only way they know how to do it. But honestly, look at the
statistics. Over 95% of all people fail in network marketing! Why? Because the
marketing methods they are using don't work in more than 95% of the cases! And
regardless of what any network marketing "guru" tells you, the fact is, in
general, people don't like selling. The principals are the same everywhere.
People are more or less the same wherever you go in the world. It's just human
nature.
7. Most network marketers become BROKE before he or she gets anywhere, and
reaches their goal in network marketing. By using a Funded Sponsoring Franchise
System or Funded Proposal System, you and your team partners will get some free
leads and fresh cash almost instantly to finance your advertising, regardless
if people join your primary network marketing business or not.
Your best and most targed market is "opportunity buyers", with other words
other people doing MLM. If you don't have a way on "how to" approach the
millions of people that already has a MLM company to promote, and no interest
to change company, you're loosing out on your best market.
By using a "Funded Proposals System" your targeted market are all "opportunity
seekers", but also all network marketers!
Give people a pure value solution and they will come to you the natural way. If
you are like most of the people in the world, then your main goal in MLM is to
make as much money as possible by doing as little as possible.
Plus, if you don't like selling, and you're not willing to sacrifice 2-8 years
calling people, doing meetings etc, and chasing the MLM dream, then the number
one key for you is to find a strong online SYSTEM on Auto-pilot, that you can
use for your network marketing business...
Because a SYSTEM takes talent and emotions and throws them out the window!
